Preparing to be a doctor in Boston: Fabrizio's story

Fabrizio, a 26 year old from Venezuela, tells us his reasons for studying Intensive English in Boston for 5 months and about his career aspirations.

How did you find out about Kaplan?

I heard about Kaplan when I was in high school. Some friends studied English with them a few years ago, and they recommended it to me.

What were you doing before choosing to study at Kaplan?

I was finishing college. After I got my medical degree in my country, I decided to come to Kaplan, to improve my English, and then continue with my career.

How has your English improved since studying at Kaplan?

It has improved so much. When I arrived I had a little bit more than basic knowledge about this language. But now, I have polished grammar, speaking and listening.

What do you love the most about the city you're studying in?

I had come before just for vacation, and since that moment I was sure that Boston would be the perfect city to study English. People are so kind, and the are a lot of places to enjoy outdoor activities.

What do you like about the school?

The location is nice, and the staff is very efficient. Also, being in this school, you can use the Northeastern University facilities. I go to the gym everyday, and it is amazing.

What do you like the most about your teachers?

They are very prepared and have so much patience to teach whatever level and specific class they have to teach. I am very thankful for Simone, she has been one of the best teachers I know.

What has been your best experience at Kaplan so far?

Knowing about other cultures, making new friends, and learning English, for sure.

Why would you recommend Kaplan to your friends back home?

It is a great school, they are focus on your learning, giving you a lot of tools to speak English fast.

How do you think studying English with Kaplan will help your future?

English is very useful in life. In my case, medicine is  always updating, and many articles and news are in this language. Speaking English opens doors.

What do you plan to do after you finish studying?
I want to attend Kaplan Medical, to revalidate medicine here, and do my residency in the USA.

Do you think this course has helped you with your future goals? How?
Absolutely yes. I feel more confident with myself when I speak English. I can keep a long conversation with a native speaker.
