New Year's Eve at our Auckland English School

Kaplan's Auckland School on NYE

If you’re spending New Year’s Eve in our English school in Auckland, NZ and crawling the web to see what the best spot to see the fireworks is, you have come to the right page!

Auckland will be hosting the biggest fireworks since 2000 (lucky you!) and the countdown will be displayed from two locations: from Waitemata Harbour and the Sky Tower.

You will be able to see the fireworks from the CBD and around the city. But what’s the best spot, we hear you asking? According to our special sources, Mt Eden, Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park and Mt Victoria are the best spots to get an overall perspective of the fireworks. You can walk to the parks to see the fireworks and celebrate with your friends from Kaplan International Colleges.

As far as transportation is concerned, Queen Street (between Quay Street and Mayoral Drive) and Federal Street (between Wellesley and Victoria street) will be closed from 8.30pm to cars so that you can walk safely. Plan your journey here as buses and trains are limited.

This is our top suggestion for Auckland. Remember, whatever you do, be safe and have fun!

Ahh, and remember to share your photos with us, we would love to see what you were up to on this special night, why not find us on Facebook?
