#KaplanExperience Winner: Carol from Brazil, in NYC

Carol, a former TOEFL student at our New York, Empire State Building school, recently won our #KaplanExperience instagram competition. She took this photo while high above the city. She is now studying at a university in California.

I got to NYC in September last year, and moved to California in January 2014. I remember I cried the whole flight to Los Angeles. I didn't want to leave, but I had plans.

On my birthday, a Brazilian friend of mine asked me to join him in a trip to NYC. On our trip we decided to take a helicopter tour.

What was your favorite #kaplanexperience?

I met my best friend in Kaplan. A Italian girl named Flavia. She went back to Europe last year, but she's coming to California to visit me.

What advice would you give to students starting their #kaplanexperience?

Enjoy the time. This is the greatest opportunity to meet people from all over the world.

What are you now doing after your #kaplanexperience?

I'm currently studying Marketing at UCLA.

What did you buy with your winnings?

I like to travel and always liked to record my experiences. I'm looking forward to buy a GoPro and keep recording my moments.
